Public spaces are an important feature of towns and cities, providing many social functions and serving as points of pride and community identity. While governments need to spend money on a range of different services and programs, it is essential that they invest adequately in public spaces.
Squares, parks and public gardens are an important part of urban life. They provide spaces for residents to congregate, meet their social needs and participate in civic life. One example of such a space is Hyde Park in central London. There are a range of recreational activities on offer for entertainment, the well-maintained, beautiful spaces in the park encourage people to take exercise, and it is a focal point for people to come together and exercise their right to free speech and peaceful protest. Maintaining such a space is expensive, but it is a worthwhile investment due to its positive impact on local communities, public health, and individual liberty. Consequently, it is important to invest in public places like parks, gardens or public squares.
Despite these benefits, it is true that governments have other areas which require taxpayer funding. Healthcare and community programs are arguably more important than providing and maintaining public spaces, and many people feel that government spending would be better directed towards these areas. However, as previously mentioned, the role of public spaces in promoting physical and mental health and bringing together communities means that money spent on such places does improve public health and community cohesion. By providing appealing public spaces, rates of obesity and cardiovascular disease decrease due to exercise, and communities are strengthened by gathering in common areas. Thus, spending on parks or squares is actually a good way to improve health and community identity.
In conclusion, I totally agree that governments should invest in beautiful public spaces. These spaces are pillars of public life, and investing in them promotes health, civil liberty and community spirit.

Though public spaces are playing a stress-releasing role in today’s congested urban life, the government should spend much money on fixing basic infrastructure and much-needed services for which people are struggling to keep alive their breaths in everyday life.
People always seek to experience a better life where they can get their basic needs and life-saving securities. Health care is a big issue in the 21st century and the government should focus on this sector to get the basic healthcare systems fixed. For instance, during covid-19 outbreaks, each nation had to struggle with fragile medical care systems which gave a strong message to everyone about the importance of a well-planned health system.
There are lots of people living on the basis of daily-earnings: especially in developing countries. They do not have food security because if they are not able to work, there will be nothing to run their family. The government ought to give their focal point on these when they draw a plan for development. However, It is undeniable that the significant feature of public spaces and parks to humans life, but these will not take the pride of place in people life to compare other essentiality. With the importance of outdoor public spaces to health and mental satisfaction, the government can invest to develop squares and parks in which people can take exercise and other activities but it should be limited.
In conclusion, I firmly disagree with the given statement. The government should keep the priority on people’s food security and health system with other basic needs by which one can lead a meaningful life.
